A Night of Luxury

posted on: Thursday, September 1, 2011

Last Friday was the much anticipated fashion show PARKLUXE put on by PARK, a not-for-profit organization with the aim of giving local designers and artists exposure. The local talents showing their designs were, Anne. B Accessories, Lara Presber, Bridget Bergman and Caillin Power. If you have been following along in previous posts and on Facebook, you know that Anne B. was one of the emerging designers from Alberta Fashion Week and was selected to have her pieces in the Chinook Centre Bellissma store! Her jewellery is made of natural elements and are mostly bold, statement pieces which every women needs in their wardrobe. Lara Presber has a B.Arch and an MA in Fashion Design. Her collections are very much inspired by architecture and her slogan is "Inhabitable places to inspire wearable pieces". Bridget Bergman discovered her love of fashion design while modelling, and decided to sign up for a fashion design and merchandizing program in Vancouver. Her designs can be described as "eclectic style combining the ease of west coast casual with and eye for dramatic shapes and distinctive silhouettes." What I've noticed about Caitlin Power is that there is almost always some leather in her pieces, which I love. She describes her collections as sophisticated, superiorly crafted, timeless, and luxurious with classic and clean silhouettes.
