Little Black Dress

posted on: Friday, September 28, 2012

This is what I wore on my birthday. I had a pretty laid back birthday this year. JP and I went out for steak dinner and had froyo for dessert on the Saturday. On Sunday JP and I went out for breakfast, then I stopped by the Home and Design show with my cousin and aunt and took in some ideas for my new home (we are moving in late November!). It was also my dad's birthday so we celebrated later in the week with angle food birthday cake.

Hearts and Pyramids

This is what I wore to PARKSALE a couple weeks ago. If you missed my post on the sale you can check it out here. Life is going to start getting pretty exciting in the next week. I will be starting school (finally!) and I'm running my first half-marathon! Unfortunately these exciting events are happening the same time as PARKLUXE so I won't be able to attend this year, but if you are in Calgary don't miss out! It's going to be an amazing show.

Last week I was lucky enough to catch a last minute ride to Western Canada Fashion Week in Edmonton with Aleem designer of Bano eeMee and KD. It was seriously such a fun two days! Watch out for photos from the shows coming up later this week.

Glitter and Gold

My aunt was in town visiting from Atlanta last week. It was so nice spend time together and visit with her. She brought me these fun glitter flats from Target. I just love them. I've been wearing them everyday with everything. My aunt was staying at my parents house, and one of the days that I went over to visit with them my mom, aunt, and little sister were painting their nails on the lawn. I decided to try out my sisters neon orange nail polish. My sister took these photos after finishing our nails. She's getting pretty good with the camera.

PARKSALE

PARKSALE, an outdoor art and design market, was held last Sunday. It was a gorgeous day to be spent outside browsing through some of Calgary's local art and fashion. The sale was set up downtown in Haultain Park in the Victoria Park area of Calgary. I spent the afternoon with my cousin checking out the vendors in the park. Below are just a few photos form the afternoon.

Farmers Market

I wore this outfit for a trip to the farmers market with my mom and little sister. We ended up going a little crazy and bought so much stuff! I mostly stocked up on vegetables, bread and pie. I also bought the best butternut squash ravioli.

This leather vest is one of my absolute favourite items in my closet. It was my mom's and she bought it when she was 17 at a small town western store.

XFest According to my iPhone

posted on: Tuesday, September 4, 2012

JP and I  met up with some friends and went to an outdoor festival on Saturday called X-Fest. The concert was held at Fort Calgary, a historical landmark in the city. I was a little worried about spending the entire day outside when the weather forecast was predicting rain the majority of the day. Of course, almost immediate after we arrived to watch Mutemath it started to rain, and the rain quickly turned into hail. A bunch of us huddled under two umbrellas while we were pelted with hail. Muthmath was amazing, and played most of their set in the hail storm! Luckily it was the only rain/hail for the day. The sun came out and the rest of the day was beautiful! I bumped into a good friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. We had both been obsessed with Linkin Park when we were in High School, so it was so much fun to watch the show together. Other highlights from the night were a random guy buying my friends and I a bucket of mini donuts off of another guy in the crowd, our friend Mark and his train hats,  and snacking on celery and carrots in the beer gardens.
