Here are some more photos that I've collected lately from my iphone app chicfeed. Still loving blazers, sweaters and boots!

Still in recovery, and not feeling so hot today. I ran out of Percocet and am feeling the pain for the first time. Ugh. Not pleasant. Thank goodness for patient fiances. JP has been a blessing. He has seriously been waiting on my every need. I don't know what I'd do without him. Thanks JP!!

Bedside Blogging

Yesterday I went in for surgery for a deviated septum. I've been avoiding this surgery for about 16 years. When I was in fifth grade a boy in my class decided to show off his ninja moves during recess. Unfortunately during one of his spinning kicks his dr. Marten boots made contact with my face, resulting in me getting knocked unconscious and waking up to a pretty bad broken nose. The next day I was staying home from school and went grocery shopping with my mom. She grabbed some butter out of the cooler. I was standing behind her and as she turned around I got whacked in the face with a block of butter. More unconsciousness, and more damage to my nose. Later we heard back from the doctors saying that I would have to come in and get my nose RE-BROKEN to set it. I refused to have it broken for a third time that week. So basically since then I have only been able to breath through my right side of my nose. Over the last couple of years it's been getting harder to breath and so I decided to finally bite the bullet and get the surgery.

So far I feel like I'm healing pretty well. I just have a few bruises around my eyes and nose, but I can FINALLY breath and I am sooooo happy. I've been saving up some outfit posts from earlier in the week, so hopefully I won't fall too far behind on the blog.

I would just like to say that I appreciate everyone who stops by my blog. Thank you so much, and thanks for listening.

Heritage Park

Today was our annual retreat at work. We spent the day at Heritage Park doing team building workshops. Here are some photos from the day. The section we were in was called Gasoline Ally. Basically there were just a lot of old cars and gas pumps. I'm not a car person but seeing the old cars was neat. Next time I go I'll have to remember to hit up the antique stores and the candy shop.

Fall Flare

This is going to be a really quick post because I need to get ready for JP's first show with his new band! I'm so excited to go watch him drum again.

This is what I wore to my friends spur of the moment wedding. It was super casual. Even the bride wore jeans most of the night. She surprised everyone including her mom and sister when she walking in for the ceremony wearing a wedding dress. No one knew that she was going to wear a dress, so emotions were flying and all the ladies were crying when the bride walked into the room. It was so much fun! The ceremony was supposed to be outside but it actually snowed that morning so the wedding was moved inside a neighbours house. Afterwards everyone headed down to a dance studio where the bride teaches Zumba classes and everyone munched on snacks, visited and danced.

Seven Confessions

posted on: Sunday, October 17, 2010

I've been tagged by Monica of  Fressia to confess seven secrets. Because this is a style blog I will keep with the trend of spilling some style/fashion confessions.

Monica is amazingly beautiful and stylish, and I've been following her on Chictopia since I joined a few months back. Thanks for the tag Monica!

I rarely ever do these kinds of things when I get them on facebook or through email, but I thought why not this time. I can never think of anything to say! Hope my answers are decent.
  1. My first confession - I try to only buy things that I really love. I read and follow what is trendy, but I won't buy some thing because it is "in". I have to feel comfortable and confident in what I'm wearing.
  2. I started wearing high heels in grade 6 to get out of gym class. haha. I made a pack with some friends to wear a skirt and heels for a month straight. I really hated track and field.
  3. When I was living in Lethbridge finishing my last two years of University I pretty much lived in my skinny jeans, cardigans, scarves and boots. I don't think I wore a dress or skirt unless I was going to a wedding.
  4. I went through a MAJOR style rut when i was a lifeguard. I seriously rolled out of bed at 4am, put on sweats, changed in to a bathing suit, guard shirt and shorts when I got to work, then went back into my sweats when my shift was over.  I would always joke that someone was going to call "What Not to Wear" on me.
  5. I used to hate flats but now I love them.
  6. My favourite type of footwear is boots!
  7. I confess. I love hoodies. I have tons of them.
Now to tag some stylish bloggers to confess some of their secrets! I'm going to tag seven bloggers because I confessed seven secrets. <3

Flames

posted on: Thursday, October 14, 2010

Currently I am sitting in my hockey jersey with JP and some friends watching the Calgary Flames game. Well, they're watching the game, and I'm blogging.

These photos were taken on Sunday with Ashley of Opheliac. We decided to do a quick walk along the ridge and catch up before we met up back at my place with the guys to watch the hockey game. During the fall/winter months my life pretty much revolves around sports. Sunday morning football breakfast, Monday night football, and then hockey hockey hockey every other night of the week. lol. It's working out nicely this year b/c JP can watch all the sports he wants now that I have blogging to occupy myself.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. I am so excited because one of my friends decided to have a spur of the moment wedding! They decided over the weekend and are having a small backyard ceremony and pot-luck reception Friday. I'm taking a half day at work so I can leave for the wedding. This has been such a short work week. too bad every week couldn't start on a Tuesday and end on a Friday at noon.

Pumpkin Pie

posted on: Tuesday, October 12, 2010

JP and I went over to my parents house for turkey dinner on Monday. This was my Thanksgiving day outfit. I felt very fall-ish. Maroon, tweed, army green.

Dinner was amazing!! The best part was the pumpkin pie. Yumm.

JP and I just recently started watching the show Dexter. We finished the first season over the weekend. It's so good! I can't wait to start onto the second season. Speaking of seconds, I finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo over the weekend as well. I couldn't put it down. It was a little slow getting into the story, but once it begins, the story gets pretty intense. Very suspenseful. I need to go out and get the second book. I have to know what happens!!!
