It's hard to get into the spirit of spring time when the weather forecast is threatening a snow storms every other day. March, April, and even May are such up and down months here. One day it will feel like spring, the next we will be back to winter. My solution to the random weather is to add a little spring time colour and then pile on the layers in case the snow starts. I also always have several different jackets in the back seat of my car in varying warmths just in case.
Last night JP and I finally went to see Hunger Games! It was good, but I wish that I could have held off on reading the books until after seeing the movie. I always find that no matter how good the movie, I'm always a little disappointed if I've read the book first. The movie always leaves out a favourite part, or can't capture a moment the way you imagined it.
In other news, I'm training for my first run in May. I'm going to run 10km in the Calgary Marathon. So far the training still feels a little torturous. I'm not getting the "runners high" that everyone talks about, so we will see how that turns out. I am determined though, and want to eventually run a half and full marathon. I hope it starts to get easier soon!

You always have the best accessories on! I love your spring time layering process--I'm in the same boat, and am just itching to have bare legs! Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the colour of the pants!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for entering the run! Definitely stick with it; it took me a bit before the runner's high started to hit, but when it does it's amazing - you'll want to never stop running!! Good luck on the run!
I LOVE those jeans! I need a pair of coloured jeans in my life asap.
ReplyDeleteLove the look, Ashley! Those green jeans are amazing, can't believe they're from Joe! I saw the Hunger Games before reading the books (though I knew the story because I got my friend to tell me)... I think I'll try reading them now and see if my feelings towards the movie change. I did like it though!

I am soooo not looking forward to heading back to AB for the weird spring weather.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your 10k (even though it's not for a while). I'm hoping to start training for the Seattle half as soon as I'm back in Calgary.
Also, love the jeans!
... I didn't know where to reply to you, so I guess I'll just leave another comment here, ha (is it even possible to reply to comments on Blogger??).
ReplyDeleteThe Seattle half isn't until November 25th! It leaves loooooads of time to train.
I love the colour of those pants! Do you find Joe Fresh jeans comfortable? I love their tops and other products, but I have trouble with their bottoms.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm with you on the running woes! I am not training for any particular reason other than to get in better shape, but I struggle with running for extended periods of time. It gets easier, but I can't imagine how it is even possible to run 10K at this point, so kudos to you :)
Good luck training for the 10k, that's amaaazing! I hope to one day be able to do that and a half marathon, so so amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love the green pants and all your arm candy!! I hate that it's supposed to snow tomorrow, ugh!! It better smarten up soon, I want sppppring

I'm ready for full blown spring too. We had amazing weather a few weeks ago, it felt like summer! But now it's been fluctuating, one day it's warm enough not to wear tights and the next it's not. Anyway, I love those green pants! Congrats on training for a 10K! That's awesome! Frank and I are doing the Insanity workout...so I feel your pain! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite - I was so happy that I read the book first, so that I could get the full suspense while reading it!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the marathon - always envious of those people who get the high from exercise, have never happened to me! Always feels like work.
Gorgeous jeans. That color is so fitting for spring! Plus they look great with the yellow in your photos.

ReplyDeleteYou carry off colored jeans SO well!!! Wish I had the guts to do that!! And I love those accessories; they go together so perfectly :)
ReplyDeleteI love those green jeans! Also - good on you for running a 10k! I am in the midst of working my way up to a 5k, and then continuing to train for the 10k during our PEI Race Weekend in October.
