Three Favourites

There are so many bloggers that I admire, but lately these three, Kim, Kate and Blair, have really caught my eye. I love their feminine style, and they've all mastered the art of layering, pattern mixing and accessorizing. I'm finding one of the hardest thing about being unemployed and being a blogger is seeing all these other amazing bloggers with great style, being totally inspired to try new things, but having no funds for shopping! I'm going through major shopping withdrawal right now. All I can think about is shoes blazers, dresses, watches and purses!

Glenmore Reservoir

I'm so jealous of everyone living somewhere where fall is just beginning! Here in Alberta We hit the peak of fall colours in late September and now in October the majority of leaves have fallen off the trees. We are already getting threats of snow for next week! This is why summer is my ultimate favourite season. It's the only season that doesn't include snow. The one thing I do love about fall is bringing back all my scarves! Scarves are definitely my favourite accessory.

It's Elementary

This morning I met up with my friend Mackenzie for coffee. We ended up heading to the reservoir, which turned into relaxing on the docks and a mini photo adventure. Mackenzie is heading to Korea soon to teach English and she will be starting her own blog to document her trip! I will miss her a ton while she is gone (she's leaving for a year!) but I know she is going to have the time of her life and am so excited for her! 

So far the last couple days have been all about visiting with good friends. Sunday was a fall clothes SWAP, and I met up with some friends to check it out. I cleared out a lot of items out of my closet, and picked up a flannel button up and some wool shorts. Afterwards I headed over to my cousins place for a much needed catch up. 

My unemployment stint is lasting a little longer than I would have liked, but I'm making the most of it and spending as much time as I can with friends and family.  It's been really nice to be able to pick up my little sister from school and catch up on some Family Channel shows with her. Right now we are loving Jessie and A.N.T. Farm.

Late Night Conversation

Remember back when I posted about Church, My Style?? Well, this is what I wore. It was one of those mornings where you hit the snooze alarm too many times, wake up in a panic only to realize everything you own is in the laundry (or still in your suitcase because you are a huge procrastinator). I was also exhausted because JP's band played the night before and I invited a friend to staying overnight. Even though I knew I had to get up at the crack of dawn I still stayed up talking and talking until 3am. I cannot resist a good late night chat. So this outfit is the result of procrastination and late night conversation.

Orange & Gold

I decided to try out an autumn collage. I wasn't a very big fan of the colour orange until I got my Matt & Nat purse and now I'm obsessed. I'm finding shades of orange and brown to be my absolute favourites at the moment. I'm also loving gold. Here are a few of the things that are on my fall wish list right now.

Long Dock

These photos are from my last day in New York. After the ModSwap party on Friday, Mikhaila and I caught the train and headed back to the Poughkeepsie/Beacon area. My flight was in the afternoon on Saturday out of White Plains, so Mikhaila and I decided to grab breakfast in Beacon and hang out at Long Dock for the morning. It was so nice to spend my last couple hours sitting in the sun by the Hudson River chatting with Mikhaila. I can't believe it's already been almost a month since my trip. Thanks again to Mikhaila and Shaina for your hospitality and hosting my New York stay!
