Denim Vest and Boots

Well, there has been an unintentional lack of posts lately. I have been pretty swamped with school and studying for my comprehensive exam, so I have had a strong aversion to looking at my laptop during my free time. My exam is on Saturday though, so the stress of that will finally be over!

I hope to get back to regular posting next month, but for now I will leave you with these outfit photos from a couple weeks ago!

Free Spirited Summer

I finally caved and got myself a new pair of glasses. I think it's been over six years since I have worn my old pair of glasses. I've been reading so much and spending a lot of time on my computer since I start back at school, so I think my eyes have rapidly gotten worse over the last two years.

On another note, Bootlegger send my this amazing top which is part of their summer transition collection, Free Spirited Summer. I've worn it a few times now and just think it's the perfect summer top. I love the bohemian look and the crochet detail at the neckline and sleeves. I think it would be a great for the beach or for festivals!

Poppy Barley

Wow. I've had these photos uploaded for a while and just forgot to make a post! Anyways, these photos are from the Poppy Barely popup shop and voting event from a couple weeks ago in Calgary. Poppy Barley is based in Edmonton, Alberta and makes custom flats and boots. It is really such a cool concept. I love the idea of having a perfect pair of flats or boots made especially to fit my exact shoe size.  The brand has a few staple styles and colours, but every so often they have limited edition options. I do not own a pair yet, but I am saving up!

Blooming Trees

I've been lacking in outfit posts lately so since the weather has been so nice the last few weeks I've been trying harder to get some more photos. Every year I drive by this tree in a field by my parents house and I think, "I need to get photos when that tree is in bloom!", but I almost always miss it. It seems like the flowers only last a week max. Last week I was driving by and saw the flowers were still on the tree and was so happy that I actually had my camera with me!

Monthly Favourites | May 2014

I can't even believe that it is June already! My comprehensive exams are coming up this month, and I don't even know how it's snuck up so fast. I feel like I just started my masters, but at the same time it feels like I've been doing this forever. 

I haven't done a monthly beauty favourites post before, but I've been wanting to do one for ages, I'm just never on top of it. Time just seems to fly by and I'm taken by surprise by a new month. 

So here are some of my favourite beauty products this month. 

First, I've had NARS bronzer in Laguna for several months now but was determined to finish up one of my other bronzers before I started using it. I finally decided that I don't have the patience for that, so I broke out Laguna sometime during May and it's the only bronzer I've been using since. I've also gravitated towards my NARS And God Created the Woman palette during May. I've been using my new Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Nude Compliment as a base then wearing different combinations of all the shadows. The colour I tend to wear the least out of the palette is Night Clubbing (bottom right), but I would say I get a lot of use out of all the other colours. 

I have a few blushes that I wore a lot during May, but I've probably worn the Bourjois Cream blush in 02 Healthy Glow the most often, and near the end of the month I really started obsessing over it. It's a cream to powder formula and the texture is so lovely. It also blends beautifully, and the colour is perfect for summer and spring. 

Something new to me is the Skindinavia Makeup Primer Spray*. I've used it everyday since I received it and am really loving it a lot! It goes on as a fine mist, and it's oil and paraben free. It's so easy and quick to use to use. I'll have a full review of it coming up soon!

The theme of some of my most recent pins seems to be white, hats, and pastel. I would really love to find a new summer hat this year, and I'm especially loving the style in the bottom left corner. I'm also loving pastel nails lately, and I am currently wearing pastel blue nail polish. I found a sample of the Chole perfume in my sample stash so I've been wearing that the last little while. I think it's going to be the next perfume I buy.
