I'm a bit behind on my posting, but here is my take on day three of Alberta Fashion Week. The final day included two local designers, as well as one local boutique. The local designers showing were DW Fashions and Mackenzie Jones. Both runway shows entertained and dazzled the audience. DW's collection reminded me of 80's styles and 90's grunge. I especially loved the studded denim vest with Sailor Moon on the back. Daryl of DW Fashions informed me that the vest was custom made for the lead singer of an all girls punk band. Mackenzie Jones was up next, and I couldn't take my eyes off the show. The collection was displayed through the models doing interpretive dance down the runway. It was unusual and dreamy. Mackenzie Jones' current collection is wearable art inspired by the outdoors. For me the designs brought up images of mythical creatures and whimsical weddings. I felt a little like I was in Narnia. Unfortunately I didn't get any photos of Crabapple Clothing, the local boutqiue. To check out photos of the Crabapple runway show Check out KD's post here! ![]() |
