I've been loving liquid lipsticks lately so I thought I would do a post sharing the ones that I own. I haven't tried any high end versions of these lipsticks yet. So far I have just been testing out drug store versions. The first one that I bought was one of the Rimmel Apocalips liquid lipsticks. I picked up the shade Stellar when they were first launched in Canada. I love the colour and the formula, but I'm not a fan of the scent. Next, I was sent two of the Long Wear Liquid Lipstick* by Joe Fresh a few months ago. I really like the violet-ish shade (Baie Sauvage) and think it's a unique colour for summer, and I've been wearing the colour Grapefruit quite a bit recently. Finally, I've mentioned my love for the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong in a past post. This one is my favourite, although the Joe Fresh ones come in close. I've been dying to get my hand on the Bourjois shade Hot Pepper, but I haven't seen it yet.

What do you think of liquid lipsticks? Which ones are your favourites?

I've been pretty busy the last few months so I haven't been on top of updating my lately posts (or my blog in general). The photos in the collage above are in no particular order.
First of all, I finally got through exam month and found out recently that I passed my comphrensive exams! So basically that means that I have the ok to move onto my internship in September. The photo in the bottom middle is from an evening studying ethics for the exam with my classmates. The top middle photo is me rolling right back into my three week summer intensive classes and reading up on couples counselling. I just finished my second year of my Masters in Counselling over the weekend, and I am so excited to go forward into my internship! Other then school I have just been enjoying the summer weather.

When Obsessed Look contacting me asking if I would like to test out a couple Sigma makeup brushes I jumped at the chance! I've seen Sigma brushes all over the blogosphere and I've been wanting the check them out. I decided to go with the E55 Eye Shading Brush and the E40 Tapered Blending Brush.  I picked these two brushes because I have been wanting to add a fluffy blending brush and a medium sized shading brush to my brush collection for a while now. here is what I think of these two brushes…

E55 Eye Shading Brush*
I really love this brush! I think it picks up the perfect amount of pigment, and it's really soft. Sigma describes this brush as having soft and dense bristles and a slightly square shape with rounded edges. This is what makes it perfect for applying an all over base colour to the lid.

E40 Tapered Blending Brush*
So, I have also fallen in love with this brush. This bush is also very soft and has a fluffy rounded end. I have been using this exclusively to blend out eyeshadows in the crease, which I think this brush is perfect for.

So overall I love both of these brushes and think the quality is great. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a shader brush or a blending brush. If you are looking for Sigma brushes in Canada, check out Obsessed Look! They are a little more expensive compared to the Sigma website, but all orders on Obsessed Look have free shipping within Canada, so that is a huge bonus.

Have you used Sigma Brushes? Which ones are on your wish list?

Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray

posted on: Friday, July 11, 2014

I received the Skindinavia Makeup Primer Spray* a couple months ago and it has become my go to primer for summer. It's described as a vitamin based primer that, "Creates a smooth lightweight canvas for flawless makeup application". It's also silicone free, oil free, paraben free and hypoallergenic. I really like this primer because it doesn't feel like you are putting on layers and layers of products, but still creates a barrier between your skin and foundation. This is especially nice in the summer when you don't want to feel like you are wearing a ton of makeup. It goes on as a light mist and literally feels like you aren't wearing anything. I also think it does a pretty good job at keeping my makeup from settling into fine lines.

Have you tried this primer yet? What do you think?

If you want to see some other primers that I love check out this post.

Bright Pink Lipsticks

posted on: Tuesday, July 8, 2014

There is something about summer that draws me towards wearing bright pink lipstick. The newest edition to my collection is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick in Pink Pong and I am loving it! Another favourites is the NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Yu. It's a similar shade to the Bourjois lipstick but it's a little brighter. I absolutely love the NARS lip pencil formula. It glides on so smooth and is really comfortable on the lips. Another one that I adore is the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lipstick in Risk it All. My sister actually picked this one out for me for Christmas. Finally I've also been wearing my Revlon Matte Balm in Showy.

What colours are you drawn to in summer? What's your favourite bright lipstick?
