This week has been really great for getting back on track with running. I've managed to meet up with my brothers three times this week at the gym, and it feels really great to get back into a workout routine. Now I just have to get into a better routine for homework and stop procrastinating on my readings.

It was my brothers birthday this week and my parents  had a dinner at their place for him tonight. It was really nice family dinner. We also played a little Just Dance 4 with my little sister. My sister introduced me to the game and now I've become addicted! I can't go over to my parents house without dancing to at least one song.

It feels like forever since I've posted an outfit. December was such a crazy month, I really didn't get to post much at all. These photos were taken back in December at the Hillberg & Berk grand opening. I have some photos from the event and of the gorgeous jewellery that I will post soon as well.

Anyways, the holiday break was quick and busy and although I'm back at school I feel like my break just started! I'm excited for this new year and what it will bring. Last year the only resolution I remember making was to take more photos and that definitely did not happen. This year I'm going to take some time to come up with more tangible goals. So far I've started back at running and I'm planning on signing up for the Calgary Marathon again. I'm just deciding on if I should  start out with a 10 km run again or go straight into a half.

What's in my Bag?

posted on: Sunday, January 6, 2013

Fellow Calgary bloggers Karolina, KD and I thought it would be a fun idea to do a "what's in my bag" post at the same time. For me I always need to have my wallet, day-time, iPhone and lip balm with me. I also usually carry a snack and during winter I like to have hand lotion with me. I just got this bag from JP for Christmas, so right now it doesn't have as much in it as my bags usually have. As time goes on more and more lip glosses and lipsticks will make it into my bag. Right now a lot of the items that usually find their way into my bag are in my car. These include Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh perfume, mittens, toque and several lip glosses.

Coach Willis bag, mac lip primer, Joe Fresh Poppy Matte lipstick, Revlon Kiss Me Coral lipstick, Burt's Bees lip balm, Clinique eye serum, Forever21 wallet, day planner, Banana Republic coin purse, Soap & Glory hand lotion, fruit source, iPhone and Kate Spade case

One thing that I've been carrying with me for the past couple years is the Clinique All About the Eyes serum. I find it's great for dark circles and puffy eyes. I use it in the morning if I haven't slept well and anytime during the day if my eyes are starting to feel tired.

Make sure to check out Karolina's and KD's "What's in my bag" posts.

Merry Christmas

Joe Fresh Eye Shadow

posted on: Monday, December 17, 2012

As mentioned in a couple of previous posts, I received some Joe Fresh beauty products to test out. My first posts were on nail polish and coloured eye liner, and now I'm onto the eye shadows. For this look, I used a combination of shadows from two palettes. The first was a face palette including three shadows, blush and three lip glosses. The second was an eye shadow quad, including four shimmery neutral colours.

For a base colour I used the shimmery brown in the bottom left of the shadow quad, then used the shimmery white to highlight the brow bone. I used the dark brown shadow from the face palette in the crease of the eye and I also used it as an eye liner. For a final touch I added a sweep of the shimmery pink from the shadow quad.

I really like neutral colours for makeup, so these two palettes worked perfectly for me. The shadows go on quite light compared to some others that I own. I've found that if I'm going for a bit more of a dramatic look that adding a little water to the shadow will make it go on darker and last a little longer.
