Here are the latest photos Sheri and I took together. Sheri made me this beautiful skirt, and I just adore the details! She also made herself the dress she's wearing, and she has just enough material leftover to make either another skirt or dress. Check out Sheri's blog post here, and if you want to custom order a version of this skirt or dress visit her Etsy shop here

In other news it's the Canada Day long weekend and I'm so excited for three days of total relaxation. The sun is bright and shining today and my cousin and I are planning on buying and planting some flowers.

Here are a few snapshots from the PARK Designer Sample Sale last weekend. I unfortunately forgot my camera, so I had to rely on mine and a few of my fellow PARK teams iPhones to capture the event. The Sample Sale is one of my favourite PARK events. There were so many great deals, and all designers were in attendance, so if you wanted you could chat with the designer about their creations and what inspired them. The best part about working the event was that I got to scope out some of the pieces that I wanted to purchase before the shopping started.

Lately Vol. 5

Here a few instagram shots of what I've been up to lately. Other than working, Americanos on weekends and wearing sandals whenever I can,  I've also been to a couple events, the swap a few weekends ago and the Designer Sample Sale yesterday. I have recaps of the SWAP and the PARK Designer Sample Sale coming up. I'm sad to have missed out on Caitlin Power's show at Sit. Interiors on Thursday, but I was happy to check out her new collection and browse through her previous collections at the Sample Sale. I can't wait to share what I bought!

Stampede 100 At The Core

posted on: Monday, June 11, 2012

Tomorrow I'm guest blogging over at The Core Shopping Centre blog. I'm blogging about Stampede Style, so I thought I would give my readers a sneak peek look at one of the outfits I came up with for the Stampede Centennial this year. Head on over to The Core blog tomorrow to see where you can find all these items, as well as another Stampede inspired outfit!

This year is the centennial celebration of the Calgary Stampede, a 10 day Western themed event in Calgary. The Stampede includes a rodeo, midway rides and games, tons of music, and much more. I am especially excited for the music this year, and of course all the midway food! Last year I tried a donut burger and deep fried Oreos.

I'm so excited that one of my good friends Sheri started up a blog and Etsy shop! She's a talented seamstress and I'm always taking my clothes to her for alterations. On top of alterations she also creates beautiful clothes, accessories and jewellery! This dress and belt are some of Sheri's creations. You can read her blog post about this outfit here.

I can't even tell you how many time I've worn this skirt in the last few weeks. It feels so great to change into a long, lightweight skirt after a long day at work. Some version of this outfit is definitely going to be my go to outfit for the summer.

Capture the Spirit

posted on: Saturday, June 2, 2012

So last Sunday was the Calgary Marathon and I ran my first 10 km race. I'm feeling so pumped about running after the race, and I'm looking forward to continuing to run. My goal this time around was just to make it to the end. I didn't even care if I had to take several walking break, and wasn't worried about my time. With the energy of the other runners and my brother running by my side motivating me, we ended up only taking two short walking breaks at the water stations.  Running with thousand of other people is so motivating, especially watching the half-marathon and marathon runners zip past on their track. It makes me want to continue to train and get to that place someday.

Unfortunately my brother and I didn't end up getting any photos of us, and only the top of my head showed up in the professional photos taken. Oh well.

Below are some photos for a flickr photography contest from the race, "Capture The Spirit".  One of my favourite moments was running past the Lululemon employees cheering everyone on with their signs (second photo). My other favourite moment was when my brother saw that his water bottle had a major leak in it and traded off his water bottle for a cup at the water station. The look of confusion on the water station guys face was priceless. It sent me into a fit of hysterical laughter.

And they're off! Words of Encouragement On the Boulevard

The other day I was looking into new runners and I started reading about the Nike Free running shoes and now I'm on a Nike kick. I'm also totally obsessed with the colour of the Nikes in the below collage! I also want to start using the Nike+ app to track my runs and see how that goes. Anyway, heres a little collage of some running gear on my current wish list (already checked off the nano, next up shoes!)
