Boots and Fur

One of my favourite things about blogging is seeing others style up the same items that you own. I think it's so fun to see what ideas other bloggers have for styling their wardrobe and it's a great way to gain inspiration from your own closet. I have noticed a few other Canadian bloggers who have the same Joe Fresh booties and faux fur that I have. Here are some photos of Kristin of Doll Parade and Kassandra of Kastles wearing their Joe Fresh booties and faux fur.

And here are a couple of outfit where I wore the faux fur and booties.

Well, I finally have a job! It's part-time only, but I'm so excited! I started this week and I'm already having so much fun and loving the people that I'm working with. I'm working with a program that goes into elementary schools and helps integrate fitness, health, and nutrition into the curriculum.

I am also so excited for February and March because PARK is having their Fashion Industry Mixer on February 9th, and having a fashion show and art exhibit, PARKSHOW, in March. We did the campaign shoot a few weeks ago and I can't wait to share my behind the scenes photos with you. Watch for them coming up on the blog soon!

A Good Hair Day

posted on: Tuesday, January 17, 2012

The wonderful people over at Misikko sent me the HANA hair dryer to check out and review, and let me tell you, it's pretty great. It literally dries my hair in under five minutes! My hair dries pretty fast normally but with the HANA It's dries so quick that I usually don't use it on it's highest setting because I don't get a chance to style my hair before it dries! I'm really happy with it. I'll admit, the price is pretty steep, but it beats my old hair dryer by a long shot. I meant to get this post out much sooner, but the whole wrist injury situation kind of made it impossible to blow dry my hair. I attempted it but I could only use one hand and my hair was quickly swirled into one giant knot.

An unexpected surprise of the HANA hair dryer was the package that it came in. The package was filled with make-up brushes, an eye lash curler, shampoo, conditioner, and a little teddy bear. So cute!

I thought that because I was doing hair post, I might as well show some of the hair products that I'm currently using. I like to try out new products all the time so I have a bunch of different products in varying price ranges right now. I usually try products that will give my hair some oomph and more body because my hair is sooo fine.

Resolutions

I wore this outfit back in September for a coffee date with my good friend Mackenzie of Mack Goes Murphy. The weather up until yesterday was so unchatacteristically warm for January that I probably could have gotten away with wearing a cardigan, open toe shoes, and rolled up pants last week! It's finally snowing now and the temperature has dropped down into the -20's. Winter is here.

Lately I've been trying to remember to take my camera everywhere, but I haven't pulled it out as often as I like to snap photos. One of my new years resolutions is to take more of a variety of photos. Over the last year I've collected tons of photos of myself, but not that many photos of my surroundings or people that I'm with. I want to try and capture more moments. I'd love to fill my house with framed photos of places I've been, whether it's travelling outside of Alberta, or places close to home. What are your New Years resolutions?

Mikhaila and I did a little swap back when I was visiting her in NY. I left behind my leather jacket and she lent me this cute purse. Check out Mikhaila's post wearing my Zara leather jacket here.  You can also check out mine and Mikhalia's previous swaps here and here!

Winter Miracles

Here is one of my Christmas outfits. These photos were taken on our way to Christmas dinner at JP's dads. He lives in a small town in close proximity to the mountains and I couldn't resist having outfit photos outside the city limit! JP went to pull over on the side of the road but the snow was hiding the steep drop off into the ditch and our car sunk down into the snow immediately! We thought we were going to have to hike up to JP's dads house and get his truck to tow us out, but thankfully JP is a miracle worker and he somehow manoeuvred the car out the ditch! Phew!

Winter Florals

I feel like I haven't done an outfit post in forever!! These photos where taken before the holidays on a coffee and Christmas present shopping trip with my mom and sister. We've really been so lucky this year weather-wise. I've actually gotten away with not wearing a jacket for the last few days. If only the rest of winter could be like this. I don't mind the snow, I just can't take the -30 weather. Crossing my fingers that the nice weather lasts a little longer.

It still doesn't feel like 2012 to me yet. JP and I decided to spend New Years at home just the two of us drinking Strongbow and beer while having a Seinfeld marathon.

So, I've been really excited for ice skating this winter because JP and I are living in a community with a little lake and when it's frozen it's divided into a bunch of little hockey rinks and a skating path that goes around the lake. There is also a rink with a fire pit in the middle. Last Tuesday JP and I invited a couple friends to skate at the lake with us. I had hardly finished my first lap around the rink when I hit a crack in the ice and bailed. I didn't think I was hurt too badly until I tried to move my wrist and almost fainted from pain. JP took me to an urgent care clinic and we found out that I might have broke my wrist. Currently I am wearing a splint, one finger typing this blog post like when I first learned how to type. I'm waiting on a second set of x-rays to find out whether I need a cast. Yikes.
