Last week so many exciting things happened! My cousin had twins (boy and girl) and one of my best friends had a baby girl! Another one of my best friends got into grad school and is moving to the States next week. A few of us decided to celebrated over the weekend by taking a day trip to Elbow Falls to spend some quality time together. Congrats to All. <3
I've developed a little obsession with silk over the last year. Silk blouses, cardigans, skirts and shorts are slowly taking over my closet. These black silk shorts are just so perfect for hot summer days. I've been wearing them non-stop along with a blue pair from Joe Fresh.

Summer is my favourite time of year. I could be outside all day everyday. Last week was so nice and relaxing. I was cat sitting and spending every morning with a coffee in the backyard basking in the sun with the kitty.
My white sun hat got crushed in my luggage on the way back from Mexico back in February, and I've been looking for a new one to replace it ever since. I finally found this one and love it!

Last night JP and I headed to Stampede Park to check out the second last day of this years fair. We met up with some friends, wandered the midway, played a few games, checked out some vendors and art displays, and sampled some of the crazy food. This year we tested out the donut burger, deep fried Oreos and Snickers, and of course mini donuts and corn dogs.
Check out more photos from the Calgary Stampede on my facebook page
Also, I started a tumblr! Come visit my tumblr here.

I wore this outfit last week when the weather was scorching hot. Last week was all about light materials, shorts, tank tops, rompers and sandals. Instead of jackets I opted for loose blouses. This summer I've also been testing out red, coral and nude lipsticks. I've never been much of a lipstick person, always opting for tinted lip balms and glosses, but I think I'm starting to come around to lipsticks.
JP's annual birthday camping trip, PITW, was last weekend, and it was such a gorgeous weekend. The sun was shinning all day Saturday. It was prefect weather to lay out in the sun and catch up on magazine after magazine. I'll post photos soon, but until then you can read last years posts here and here.
This week is also the Calgary Stampede, a 10 day rodeo and western heritage event with amusement park rides, tons of food, concerts, and pancake breakfasts all over the city! I haven't had a chance to check out the grounds yet, but I've been trying to make it to a few breakfasts with my mom and sister. Yesterday was a complete fail. The breakfast we went to ran out of syrup, so we dashed to another one, but by the time we arrived it was over.

This morning we made it to the Southcentre Mall breakfast for pink pancakes and strawberries. It was pouring rain in buckets, but we stuck it out, grabbed our pancakes and ran inside the mall. The best thing about the mall breakfasts is they alway giveaway samples of makeup and perfume. This year I picked up a sample of Marc Jacobs Daisy and Daisy Eau So Fresh, as well as Marc Jacobs Bang for JP.

On June 5th myself and a few of my fellow Calgary bloggers had a photo shoot for Fashionsign Magazine. At first I was so nervous, but everyone who was working on the shoot was fantastic, and made me feel so comfortable. Here are some behind the scenes photos, excerpts from the Fashionsigns blog, and a video!
What started out as a rather gray day in Calgary was quickly brightened up by the eclectic style of four of the city’s young fashion and design bloggers. Maybe not bright, but certainly early, the Fashionsign team assembled slightly bleary-eyed and fully-caffeinated.
Shortly after we had arranged our equipment and selected some vintage-inspired props, design student and Born Electric blogger Susanne arrived to showcase her personal style for Fashionsign. Sporting some bed-head hair to match her rock-infused wardrobe, Susanne whipped through her five outfit choices, her photos belying whatever sense of camera-anxiety she expressed.
Following a lengthy lunch – and some quick wardrobe changes of our own – the weather decided to cooperate. Flying a Kite blogger Amy, and her cute summer wear, perfectly complimented our sunny outdoor set (who needs a studio?). As our photographers, Jess and Kaitlyn continually arranged both our models and our props the day progressed into a perfectly breezy summer afternoon (wind machine need not apply).
KD and Ashley of The Girl with the Messy Hair and Lions Lace Lattes respectively, rounded off the afternoon, and our down-time conversations ranged from Forever21 to the changing demographics of the city. Weather-wise it was a welcome reprieve from an otherwise rainy week, making the shoot an overall picture-perfect day – pun intended.
After the shoot KD, Dee, and I headed out to celebrate at Earls. I still can't believe all the amazing people I've met and the opportunities that are coming to me through blogging. Thank you again everyone at Fashionsign, and thank you KD and Dee for all your support during the shoot!

To all my fellow Canadians
HAPPY CANADA DAY
It's been such a great week! KD asked me to be her assistant stylist for a photo shoot with Numa Models and Phocal Point Photography. I can't wait to share some behinds the scenes photos. It was such a great experience and I met some truly amazing people. Thank you so much KD for including me!
Last night JP and I headed out to Canmore to watch out friends band, and today we will be celebrating Canada Day. I can't believe that it's already July and that JP's birthday and annual birthday camping trip are right around the corner!
